I know most people focus on store clearance sections when looking for retail arbitrage products. I've seen some people talk of buying something at a regular retail price and getting a good deal more for it on eBay or Amazon. My question is what are some circumstances that can cause a product to be sold for more than the regular retail price on eBay or Amazon?

I wished I would have known all of this. My husband died a few months ago and in a panic I gave over 300 books away to empty apartment and selling off stuff to survive. Now I'm looking to doing this. Have no income atm. I hope I catch on what to do to help myself. Thank you for all the info

So you can’t just buy books at thrift stores, goodwill, library sales and sell them anymore. Your examples are not Books; appreciate your honesty, but I just wanna sell books (about 3,000) to clean out my personal library and then continue by shopping at Goodwill etc. I’m gated on EVERYTHING despite being a 5 star seller for many years, tho I went inactive for 4 years. Out of 1000 Book attempts I was only allowed to sell 100.

What do you do with your profits? Someone else is going to profit off you eventually. Do you keep some of your finds and get the full value since most cases no one offers retail price in most cases. Sometimes I feel it’s better value to use something you got on sale than flip it and get less than retail.
